CorelDRAW 3.0 Questions & Answers Q. Does the new approch to an all-in-one graphics solution signal a move away from Corel's strong-hold in vector-based drawing software? A. No. Corel's objective is to continue to provide the most powerful drawing package available. In fact, we have strengthened CorelDRAW by adding over 200 new and enhanced features to it. Corel has integrated charting, paint and image-editing and presentation modules to respond to a market that requires even more versatility within a single graphics solution. Q. Does the additionof over 200 new features in the drawing module of CorelDRAW 3.0 make it more Difficult to use? A. No. Along with power and versatility, ease of use has always been, and will remain a priority with CorelDRAW. In many cases, such as interactive blending and extruding, and on-screen text editing, we have improved the ease of use. Q. Are these modules independently strong, or are they similar to Microsoft aplets? A. Unlike Microsoft aplets, all the modules integrated into CorelDRAW 3.0, including a charting, paint and image-editing and presentation, are full featured programs which could be marketed on their own. Instead of stipping features away, Corel's approch is to continue to provide more value, versatility and functionality to our users by including these powerful programs in one package. Q. Are the additions of Charting, paint and image-editing and presentation modules a response to a more competitive marketplace? A. Corel's approch has alawys been to respond to the requests of our users. A more competitve marketplace gives us more incentive to develop an even stronger graphics solution, and to continue to strengthen our trademark illustration program. But, our primary incentive remains end-user satisfaction and usability. Q. What are your future plans for CorelPHOTO-PAINT? A. As we have done with CorelDRAW, Corel's objectives are to take bit-map editing in new directions. We will continue to apply innovation and new technology to all of our modules, including drawing, charting, presentation and paint and image-editing . Q. Why didn't you rename the package? A. CorelDRAW remains the centrepiece of our graphics solution. Also, the name is reconized world-wide. Q. Will Corel continue to purchase new programs for your graphics solution? A. Whether we develop in-house or purchase new technologies, Corel will continue to take computer graphics to new heights.
