README ASR 1.50: ================ This is a fully functional version of ASR, or Automatic Strings Remover. For complete documentation, please refer to ASR.DOC. your ASR150.ZIP file should contain the following files: README.TXT (you're reading it) ASR.EXE (the executable file) ASR.DOC (complete documentation) UPDATE50.DOC (last minute changes/version information) Before you can start using ASR, you must make sure that you have ESM version 1.04 or later installed properly. Then you can start to use ASR on your WWIV source code files. QUICK GUIDE TO WHAT ASR DOES: ============================= ASR works to automatically remove strings from WWIV source code files and place them in a STRINGS.TXT or other strings file for ESM to convert to STRINGS.DAT. This eliminates the need to manually remove strings from every file that you wish to use ESM on. Plus, it has many features that are very handy for string removal, one being full commenting support. To completely understand why you need/want to do this, please refer to the ESM documentation and the ASR documentation.
