DX2 MACHINES COME FROM MANUFACTURERS The Intel 486 DX2 processor is here, and PC manufacturers are taking advantage of its speed doubling technology. A number of companies are either now shipping or have announced support for the chip, which promises to boost system performance by as much as 70 percent. Two of the early entries into the DX2 arena include the Compaq Deskpro 50/M. Dell is rolling out four new upgradable PCs based on the speed doubling power of the DX2 chip.
