Compatibility Statement
WordPerfect v5.1 is compatible with LANtastic NOS v4.xx.


Product Overview
WordPerfect is probably the world's best known text-based word processor.  As 
of version 5.1, operation of WP over the LANtastic Network Operating System is 
directly supported.  WP 5.1 also includes an optional pull-down menu interface 
and mouse support as an alternative to its traditional function key interface.  
Note that this bulletin applies only to WordPerfect 5.1 and not WordPerfect for 
Windows.

 
Test Equipment Configuration
The following machines were used for WordPerfect testing.  All machines use 
Artisoft AE-2 NICs.  Testing was completed using LANtastic NOS v4.0 with 
AILANBIO.EXE and AE2.EXE v2.03.  Machines running as LANtastic peer 
servers are designated by (S).

	-       CompuAdd 333:   386DX/33, DOS 5.0 (S) (Main WordPerfect Server)
	-       Northgate 386:  386DX/20, DOS 5.0 (S)
	-       CompuAdd 220:   286/20, DOS 5.0 (S)


Product Installation Notes
Installation is achieved via WordPerfect's INSTALL routine, invoked from the 
Install/Learn/Utilities 1 diskette.  During the installation, the program will present 
a list of possible networks.  At this screen, one of the choices displayed is:

8 - LANtastic

Choose this option and WP will install correctly for use with the NOS.
 

Compatibility Notes
One minor incompatibility exists between WP 5.1 and the SEND function of 
LANtastic's LANPUP pop-up utility, all other functions of LANPUP work normally.  
If the SEND function is required, contact the Artisoft Technical Support 
department for a work-around.
