Version 6.5.0w PARAMETERS INFORMATION FILE This file contains parameters available and appropriate useage information as can be used in your specific "params" file. Note that all parameters must be specified in lower case characters. serial#= This number must be correct as assigned or the program will not run. windowloc=0 The window location parameter determines whether the menu is located on the right or the left of the drawing area. 0 - menu is on right 1 - menu is on left display=2 The display type parameter tells ProCadd about the users particular requested display resolution. The default is type 2, or VGA. If your monitor is not VGA or better, the program will fall back to an acceptable type. If you wish greater resolution these types are available. If selections 0 or 1 are used, the drawing area will be severely reduced. 0 - CGA/EGA 640x200 4 - VGA 1024x768 (VESA) 1 - EGA 640x350 5 - VGA 1280x1024 (VESA) 2 - VGA 640x480 (default) 6 - VGA 1024x768 (C&T only) 3 - VGA 800x600 (VESA) 7 - Pixelworks Microclipper pick_app=3 The value entered at this parameter tells ProCadd that any point located by the user within "3" pixels of an element or more specifically it's endpoint, should be interpreted as that element or endpoint. In cases where the user is operating with a display type above 800x600, the "pick_app=" should be at "4". screen_height=9.5" screen_width=12.5" The screen height and width settings enable the user to adjust the ProCadd drawing area so that real size is displayed. The default settings are for a standard 17 inch monitor. When setting these parameters for another, measure the usable display area on that particular monitor. efubufs=10 This buffers parameter determines how much memory that ProCadd will set aside as a cache for entity file I/O. ----------- user_units= The "user_units=" parameter determines whether or not metric units will be used in the program. When "user_units=" is set to a value representing a metric unit of measure, it can be considered to be in metric mode. When in metric mode, the standard unit as defined as one is centimeter instead of inch. This mode affects operations including plotter functions, dimension operations and text sizing. When this parameter is set to "5", metric operation will not be default and the standard unit will be one inch. If this parameter is set to "2" and therefore metric operations are desired, the user would probably also want to redefine the "dimresol=" and dim_units=" parameters. These would change the defaults in the Dimension functions to metric units and a decimal resolution. If the user has not specified any values at these related parameters, the program will default to cm and 1/10 resolution. Drawing is in metric format, the program will automatically flag all files as metric unless either the status is switched at New Drawing or a U.S. format saved drawing is retreived thereby changing the internal flag to U.S. The current values available for "user_units=" are: user_units=2 - centimeters (metric) 5 - inches (U.S. Standard) circle_chords=48 The value entered at this parameter determines the amount of chords used to display circles or circular elements. The more chords, the finer the curved representation. This does not affect the plot. resolution=1000.0 The resolution parameter value is used to assign display resolution limits to the program. A default resolution is 1000 which determines that the least definable unit from the display's standpoint is 1/1000 of the default unit of measure which is one inch, or in the case of metric operation, one centimeter. min_window=250 This parameter value assigns a zooming limit to the program in relation to the above mentioned resolution value. The value 250 interprets as 250/1000, or 1/4 inch or centimeter. This value will be the smallest allowed window size. bg_color=0 - Background Color (default 0 equals black) fg_color=15 - Foreground Color (default 15 equals bright white) frame_color=2 - Frame Color (default 2 equals dark green) hi_color=10 - Highlight Color (default 10 equals bright green) sel_color=14 - Select Color (default 14 equals yellow) These parameters are used to select screen colors. In cases where the user is operating with a laptop or monchrome monitor or if the user would prefer a white background, we would suggest the following color selections. frame_color=0 fg_color=0 bg_color=7 hi_color=10 sel_color=14 drawings=$0\drawings - default drawing file storage and retrieval location symbols=$0\symbols - default symbol file storage and retrieval location stdparts=$0\stdparts - default standard parts storage and retrieval location session=$0\session - default session files storage and retrieval location fonts=$0\fonts - default font files storage and retrieval location plotters=$0\plotters - default plotter driver retieval location tmp=$session - default tmp swap file location entfile=$session\ent.ses - default drawing entity file location symfile=$session\sym.ses - default symbol entity file location params=$session\params - default parameter file location cadfile= - instant load file identity These parameters when changed, alter the default storage and/or retrieval location for various file types. file_sort=1 This parameter defines the initial default sort type when entering the drawing, symbol and parts file management menus. Value possibilities: 0 - no sort 1 - sort by name ascending 2 - sort by name descending 3 - sort by date ascending 4 - sort by date descending 5 - sort by size ascending 6 - sort by size descending file_filter=1 This parameter deterines the default filter or no filter setting in the drawing, symbol and parts files management menus. 0 - default is "NO FILTER" 1 - default is "FILTER" df_file_name_gen=0 - drawing file auto file name generation - 1=enabled sym_file_name_gen=0 - symbol file auto file name generation - 1=enabled sp_file_name_gen=0 - standard parts file auto file name generation - 1=enabled colors=16 The value set at this parameter assigns the number of colors available to the user at the Attributes and Plot menus. color1pen=1 color2pen=1 color3pen=1 color4pen=1 color5pen=1 color6pen=1 color7pen=1 color8pen=1 color9pen=1 color10pen=1 color11pen=1 color12pen=1 color13pen=1 color14pen=1 color15pen=1 color16pen=1 The color?pen parameters set the default pen assignments as displayed in the plot function menu. structs=8 This parameter assigns the number of line structures allowed as shown in Attributes and Plot. bit_length=0.05 This parameter assigns a bit length value to be used in defining structure types. style2=.1,.1 style3=.2,.2 style4=.15,.1,.05,.1 style5=.1,.1,.1,.1,.3,.1 style6=.4,.4 style7=.3,.1 style8=.35,.05 The definitions as identified in these parameters display as the defaults in the program. text_size=0.1 This value represents the default text size in the program. real_text=0 This parameter determines whether or not real text or fast text will be default. 0 - "FAST TEXT" mode is default 1 - "REAL TEXT" mode is default dim_arrow=0.1 This value represents the default arrow size used for dimensions. dim_units=6 This setting determines the default unit of measure for length dimensions. 1 - millimeters 2 - centimeters (default in metric mode) 3 - meters 4 - kilometers 5 - inches 6 - feet/inches (default in U.S. mode) dimmark=1 This parameter determines the dimension qualifier. 0 - unqualified 1 - tickmarks (default in U.S. mode) 2 - units of measure (default in metric mode) dimfeet=1 When set at "1", the Dimension menu variable will default to feet and inches.
