If you wish to register by FAX or mail, please include the following information so that you are properly registered. Reference Number * Original Disk Serial Number Your Name Company Name Address Phone Number FAX Number * The Reference Number can only be determined after you have installed CADWriter. Once installed, CADWriter will work in Demo Mode until you have entered a valid Registration Number. #2 ------------ CONVERTING TEXT ENTITIES TO DOCUMENTS --------------------- CADWriter has the ability to create documents from existing text entities. CADWriter will compare each text entity for matching style, height, width factor, rotation angle, etc. If all of these values are similar the document will be created in the same location as the selected text. This should aid in creating multi-line documents. If any of the attributes of the selected text entities differ, then the Document Settings dialog box will appear. At this time you may use the dialog box to adjust any of the settings for the new document. #3 -------------------------- TAB STOPS ----------------------------------- Additional Tab Stop functionality has been added to speed up the process of Setting and Clearing Tab Stops. This bypasses the use of the Tab Stops dialog box and gives you a more visual idea of where the Tab Stops need to be. The Keystroke Assignments are: Set (Add) a Tab Stop at the current cursor location....ALT+TAB Clear the Tab Stop at the current cursor location......CTRL+TAB OR Set (Add) a Tab Stop at the current cursor location....ALT+T Clear the Tab Stop at the current cursor location......CTRL+T --------------------------------------------------------------- | | | NOTE: Using the above HOT-KEY assignments to set and clear | | tabs is not intended for use in paragraphs that are | | not Left Justified. The results might not be what you | | wanted. | | | --------------------------------------------------------------- You cannot adjust the spacing between a tab character and any other character. If you do need to perform such an operation you should follow the tab character with a space character, then the word you wish to adjust spacing on. You can then decrease the spacing between the space and the word enough that the word will move completely over the space character. Keep in mind that the cursor will seem to be moving incorrectly when it moves through such a line. This is considered a bug and is being fixed. #4 -------------------------- KEYBOARDS ----------------------------------- During the development and testing of CADWriter it was found that some computer keyboards would not produce the ALT+ARROW keystroke codes. These key cominations are used for the following functions: Justify Paragraph(s) Left...........ALT+LEFT ARROW Justify Paragraph(s) Center.........ALT+DOWN ARROW Justify Paragraph(s) Right..........ALT+RIGHT ARROW These functions of CADWriter are available from the F1 Command dialog if you find that the above keystroke combinations don't work on your keyboard. You can also use these CTRL+'key' assignments. Justify Paragraph(s) Left...........CTRL+L Justify Paragraph(s) Center.........CTRL+E Justify Paragraph(s) Right..........CTRL+R #5 ---------------------------- FONTS ------------------------------------- Unlike some other programs that have attempted to do paragraph text inside AutoCAD, CADWriter does not create any Text Entities until saving the doc- ument. The characters that appear on the graphics screen are not always accurate representations of the final text. This is most noticable in the AutoCAD supplied font called EURO____.PFB. The Space Bar character may display as what appears to be Slash. This is a known bug and will be fixed in the next release of CADWriter. If you are a registered user of CADWriter and would like to get the lastest release, contact: CAD Lettering Systems 813-855-2681(voice) or 813-854-2795(FAX). ----------------------------------------- ** End of CADWriter readme.txt file. ** -----------------------------------------
