TITLE: Glyphix and DR DOS DOCUMENT ID#: FYI-M-1612 DATE: 04JAN93 PRODUCT: DR DOS PRODUCT VERSION: 6.0 SUPERSEDES: 02JAN92 SYMPTOM: GX mode does not work with HP LaserJet ISSUE/PROBLEM: Glyphix has been tested with DR DOS 6.0 and it exhibits the same symptoms that it did with DR DOS 5.0. The "GX" mode still does not work with the HP LaserJet. If you are using a Hewlett-Packard Series II, IID, or IIIP, you should be aware of the following restrictions: GLYPHIX laser font package for WordPerfect 5.1 has three modes of operation. You can choose any of the three modes when starting the application. Two of the modes are successful with DR DOS. The third is not. SOLUTION: It is recommend that you change to GXL or GXS to start Glyphix. These two modes run well under DR DOS. GXL.EXE This is the fastest mode, but it requires the most memory. (use DR DOS's memory features and this program should have plenty of room). It takes 110K of memory and can print 3-120 point sizes. It also allows background printing. GXS.EXE The smaller memory version of GXL.EXE. Allows you to print up to 60 point, and takes approximately 59K of memory. It to allows background printing. The following mode is not compatible with DR DOS. It will not print correctly on the HP printers listed above. GX.EXE Requires about 26K of memory. Also requires over 500K of disk space to create a temp print file. If you are using a Hewlett-Packard Deskjet, the Deskjet driver for Glyphix has no problems.
