FP - Find In Path Page 1 Version 1.0 February 6, 1993 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Introduction ------------ There have been many times that I have typed in a command (such as Q) and ran a different program then I thought I would. For example, Q represents Quatro, Query (a personal program I wrote) and I also have a BAT file called Q.BAT. I decided to write a program that will "search" my path in the same way DOS would. Instead of executing the program, it will "list" all occurrences of the program, "in the order" that DOS would find them. If you have multiple versions of a program, for example, a COM and EXE version, FP will list them in the order that DOS would find them. Installation ------------ Simply place FP.EXE in any directory in your path. It requires no special configurations etc... Execution --------- FP takes one parameter. It should be the "command" you would type in at DOS. For example, if I wanted to find all occurrences of "Q" in my path... I would type: FP Q If I wanted to find all occurrences of WP I would type: FP WP If I wanted to find all versions of PKZIP in my path, I would type: FP PKZIP FP - Find In Path Page 2 Version 1.0 February 6, 1993 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Support ------- Support for FP is done via MetaSys.
