README.TXT Photo-Byte Ltd. 255 York Blvd., Suite 201, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada L8R 1Y7 Phone/Fax (416) 575-4567 PhotoSlide is the Interactive Presentation Graphics Display Engine that lets you dynamically link your favourite software with photos and other graphics. Pick one or more images from arrays of up to 25 of your images on screen one time. Have those picked images load and query a database or text file Load and run other software, such as word processing or a spreadsheet, or operate peripheral equipment, based on picked images in an array. Have the results of a database query or spreadsheet operation automatically create and display a slideshow or array of chosen images. Easily create custom interactive business graphics and text presentations. Enjoy PhotoSlide resolution quality in Super VGA up to 1024 x 768. PhotoSlide Pro can be used to simply display a collection of photo's and other graphics, or it can be used to drive highly sophisticated multimedia graphics and high speed text database systems for industrial / commercial / consumer catalogues on disk, mall and tourist directory systems, electronic magazines, educational programs, business presentation systems or law enforcement (mugshots, intelligence projects, most wanted fugitives database, missing persons). The applications are endless. PhotoSlide Pro shows GIF and PCX photos as an ARRAY (2 x 2, 3 x 3, 4 x 4 or 5 x 5), or as a SLIDESHOW, or ONE-AT-A-TIME in Super VGA 256 color mode. You can SELECT a photo from an array, ZOOM it to full screen and/or PICK the photo to load and QUERY another program. You can screen capture arrays in either GIF or PCX and quickly convert images from one format to the other. PhotoSlide Pro saves the file names of your picked GIF or PCX images to ASCII text file. The GIF or PCX extension can be automatically stripped out using our NAMEONLY utility. The stripped file name(s) can then be used to trigger batch files calling other programs or can be imported in other applications. Conversly, as PhotoSlide Pro is configured and runs from the DOS prompt software which can output to an ASCII text file or a printer file can be used to trigger batch files to display images. Some packages, such as askSam, can call PhotoSlide Pro from within their systems. PhotoSlide Pro emphasizes MINIMUM MEMORY REQUIREMENTS. This allows PhotoSlide Pro to co-exist in RAM with many other programs and interact with them at the same time. PhotoSlide Pro can screen capture arrays in both GIF and PCX formats. A slide show of photos can be "picked" in desired order of appearance and then displayed as an ordered array. This feature allows quick preview of collections of photos. PhotoSlide Pro automatically scales photos in their original aspect ratio. This is particularly useful for odd shaped photos captured by hand scanners, etc. A small photo will be enlarged to fill the array frame or full screen while still maintaining the correct aspect ratio. PhotoSlide Pro can auto detect the GIF or PCX file extension. Both GIF and PCX photos can be shown in the same screen array. PhotoSlide Pro is a powerful developer's tool box.
