Cedar Creek A Municiple Course in San Antonio TX Perhaps one of the finest municiple golf courses in the country. It was designed by Fingers and Dye, and built in 1988 by the City of San Antonio. It is in the Texas Hill Country in the Northwest of San Antonio. Unfortunately it is too difficult for most Sunday duffers, so current playing time hovers around 5 1/2 - 6 hours. In my efforts to design this course, I borrowed several objects from the Compuserv Library and the background from one of the courses there. Several of the object are of my own efforts, but I don't excell at the creative/artsy stuff. I played with the palette, trying to achieve a sun burnt rough effect. I'm happy with the result, I hope you enjoy it also. You'll find this course challenging, I hope. You can let it out off the tee as most fairways roll toward the middle. But the toughness here is on the greens. They are extremely large (sometimes over 100 ft putts) and undulating. Both features are relatively realistic compared to the reality of this course. My practice rounds to "proof" the course led to some pretty high scores, even for me. I play this course regularly, and think I have captured it pretty well. The special characteristics of the course are it's huge rolling greens and concave fairways. Obviously Fingers and Dye liked grass bunkers as well as sand. It has been my desire for some time to do this course, and waited til I thought I was up to it. Fantasy courses are considerably easier, to me, than real ones. I think I did a credable job with this one. I hope you enjoy it. Terry Clark Compuserve (75230,2671)
