ÚÄÄÄÄ¿ ßßßÛÛÛÛÛÛÛ ÛÛÛÛÛÛÛßßß ßßßÛÛ ÛÛßßß ÀÄÄÄÄÙ Intelec International E-Mail Network þ Audio Conference Spotlight þ by Dave Calmer This is a new feature in the In-Basket beginning this month. We will be taking various conferences each month and giving a little more in depth information about them so that you can have a better understanding of what all is available on the network. The reason for this is simple, if you don't know it is available there isn't much chance of the conference getting used, if a conference doesn't get used it won't be with us very long. This month I've chosen a single conference to spotlight only because it is one I'm very familiar with, the new AUDIO-VIDEO conference. The AUDIO-VIDEO conference was added at the beginning of January and is here for us to discuss just about anything related to audio and/or video. The conference is moderated by yours truly (DAVE CALMER) who has many years of experience in the field of consumer audio and video. The area is intended for discussions of anything related to the field including equip- ment, acoustics, speaker placement, surround sound, home theater, car audio (I don't recommend car video though ) or anything else even remotely related to the field. There are some things that will be totally off limits though such as video/audio tape selling and/or trading, any form of bashing or equipment sales. I would like to remind any and all potential users of the conference of the golden rule I have always lived by as far as audio is concerned. All of the sales hype and spec sheets in the world aren't what audio or video reproduction is about, the ONLY true test of ANY equipment is what sounds or looks right to the person using that equipment. It doesn't matter if you have $25,000 or $250 invested in your system, if it sounds good to YOU that is all that is important in the long run. If we can all keep this in mind we'll get along together fine in the conference.
