Mr. Machinist (tm) ================== Copyright (c) 1993 by Allan J. Bremer Beta Version ============ 04/27/93 Changes since last beta, 04-19-93 ================================= The system would lock up if you were to try and print the clipboard screen in the Edit menu, Show Clipboard function. By striking the F10 key you are put into the upper menu choices. The help file, (F1 key), is now filled with help on these menu choices. Testing is in progress for the CNC link. PC to CNC or CNC to PC. This function should be out soon so stay in tune! =============================================================== Mr. Machinist is a math program for CNC programmers, engineers, and machinist. It can calculate the chord of a circle, do trig. conversions to/from English and metric, edit machine files, get three points on a circle, middle of two points, etc., etc. A users manual has not been completed for Mr. Machinist yet but is in the process. The help file is context sensative so help is always at your finger tips. Some users have not seen this type of interface and have trouble inputing data. Use the 'Tab' key to enter in to the input lines for data input. In some cases the 'Enter' key will cycle you through the dialog box. After all data is input you can keep striking the 'Enter' key until your in the 'OK' box and then the 'Enter' key will execute the function. The 'Tab' key will also cycle you through the dialog box and if you hold down 'Shift' while you strike 'Tab' you will cycle through the dialog box in the other direction. The Tab key is probably the most important key in Mr. Machinist! When ever your troubled about a mathematical term or questioning data entry, just strike F1 and there's your answer. Every thing is in plain laymans terms! When you receive an error message you don't see something like, "BIOS RAM ROM Overflow at HEX F84", all math function error messages tell you the problem in plain English! The help file is ever growing and the editor is a universal one. If you have trouble with the editor or are just finding it hard to get around, getting familiar with DOS version 5+ editor or the DOS shell will help to become familiar with Mr. Machinist. ============================================================= To install the program: ======================= Copy MRM.EXE and MRMHELP.HLP to a directory on your hard drive. You may create a new directory or copy these two files to an existing directory. If you prefer to run Mr. Machinist from the disk then you can type MRM to activate the program from the disk. Make sure that both of these files are in the same directory. If these files are not in the same directory, MRM.EXE will look for MRMHELP.HLP and when it does not find it in the same directory it will display an error saying that it can not find the help file. The program will still run but will not have a help file. To execute the program, type MRM. Here is an example of the DOS commands used to install Mr. Machinist. This example assumes you have the program disk in your A drive! Command Results ======= ======= C: Puts you on the C drive. (Hard drive) CD\ Change directory to your root directory. MD MRM Makes a directory called MRM. CD MRM Change directory to MRM. COPY A:*.* Copies all files from disk in A drive to C. MRM Starts the Mr. Machinist program!!! You will have to get into the MRM directory every time you want to run Mr. Machinist unless you put the MRM directory in your path statement. Look up the PATH statement in your DOS manual for more information. ================================================================ REGISTRATION ============ The following information describes the Mr. Machinist registration fees on ONE computer only: Send $25.00 as a registration fee for the Beta version and you will receive the latest program disk and telephone/BBS support.
