Manual Installation Procedures
______________________________

     
     Windows 3.1:
     ------------
     1. This example will use C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV as the destination directory
        for the drivers.  The Install application WILL NOT run properly
        unless the Windows drivers are located in the <Path>\WIN31DRV
        sub-directory.

     2. Create the new directory if it does not already exist. 
        (Example:       MD C:\SS24X <Enter>)
                        MD C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV <Enter>)

     3. Copy all files to the WIN31DRV directory.
        (Example:  A:WIN30DRV.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV <Enter>)

     4. Extract the WININST.EXE file to the parent directory.
        (Example:  WININST.EXE C:\SS24X <Enter>)

     5. Verify operation of your Windows 3.1 installation in standard VGA
        mode (640x480x16) before continuing installation.

     6. From the Windows Program Manager, choose:
     
        File
        Run
        C:\SS24X\INSTALL <Enter>
       
     7. This will start the SpeedStar 24X INSTALL application and allow
        you to select the desired resolution and colors.

     8. If you the INSTALL program cannot find the desired driver, or if 
        you choose to INSTALL NEW, the INSTALL program will prompt you to
        enter the path where the Windows 3.1 drivers for your SpeedStar 24X
        can be found. At this prompt type:

        C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV

     9. The DIAMOND icon will be copied to the Control Panel inside
        Windows.
