Internet news is broken into sections as a group of topics connected by periods. For instance the funcky music newsgroup is REC.MUSIC.FUNKY. This door will present you with the first groupings. Use the cursor up, down, left, right, pageup, pagedown, home and end keys, (in DOORWAY mode, or turn on NUMLOCK and send the numbers), to select the main topic. You can also send ansi sequences, but in that case the pageup and pagedown will not work. After entering a return you will then be presented with a set of subtopics, and after selecting them, will be presented the next level. Once you reach the message level, you will be presented with the messages available on the system, and you can choose and read these. Messages will be numbersand highlighted, whereas newsgroups will be text. After reading a message the message pointer will be incremented to the next message. We recommend this door for looking at newsgroups to see what you are interested in and for exploring the USENET. This DOOR does not keep up with message pointers or users names, so once you decide which newsgroups you want, we recommend using an off-line reader/door such ZNEWS DOOR and ZNEWS Reader. Enter a Q to exit the DOOR when not reading a message. Enter an ESC to back up one level, or exit from a message.
