FIREARMS INVENTORY PROGRAM

     This program is designed to be user friendly and to help all
firearm owners to keep a complete inventory of their firearms. In
the organization of files, the data files have been broken down
into the following catagories:

     Manufacturer of Firearm  - accepts up to 15 charachers
     
     Model of Firearm by Mfg. - accepts alpha/numeric combo

     Caliber of the Firearm   - accepts alpha/numeric combo

     Manufacturers Serial No. - alpha/numeric characters accepted

     Type of Firearm          - eg.(shotgun, bolt action, pistol)

     Original Purchase Date   - Accepts MM-DD-YYYY format

     Additional Information   - allows you to add all additional
                                equiptment added to firearm as
                                long as it is seperated by spaces
                                and up to 26 characters


     I have included a sample data file named: SAMPLE.DAT within
the program so you can see an example of how the information will
look when printed out.  The data files generated by the program
can be named by the user to be tailored to their needs and can be
up to eight (8) characters in length.  The ".DAT" extension will
be automaticly added to the end of the filename made by the user
and all data files created can be accessed by the user to be
edited in future so there is no need to recreate files from the
beginning, thus saving time during updates.  The sample data file
can be also ammended.


     The programs within the main programs are all accessable
from a Main Menu Program which automaticly loads.  At the "A>:"
(A_prompt), type "FIREARMS.BAT". This will automaticly load the
program. If you wish to print this documentation file, then type
"PRINT-ME" at the A>:prompt.


     I have tried to create an easy working environment to create
records and data file of the firearms you may have as a hunter or
collector.  This program should work on DOS 3.1 or higher. I have
DOS ver. 6.0 on a 80286, with 360K 5.25 drives only, and the
program handles everything I have dished out to it and survived.
