This is a complete demo of all of the boards in Id's Doom, the shareware version. It is in no way supported by Id - use at your own risk. Instructions: To run the demo, simply copy all of the contained files to your Doom directory, and type "doomdemo". This will execute a batch file which will start the demo for each board. Details: All of the demos were recorded on skill level four, or Ultra - Violence level. The demo of each board reveals the location of all of the secret rooms on each level. 90-100% of the enemies on each level were killed. Not all of the items are picked up, but their locations are revealed. (You can't pick up medikits if you are not hurt, this also holds true if your ammo is maxed out) Recording the demos was somewhat difficult, because the demo does not record cheat codes, so you cannot use them, and you start each level with only a pistol and 50 bullets. Ultra - Violence level only made this more difficult, but this was chosen to reveal the position of all of the enemies in the game. Computer Setup: These demos were recorded on two different computers. One is a Gateway 2000 486Dx2-66 Mhz machine with 16 MB of ram, the other was a Compaq Proliena 486Sx-25 Mhz machine with 4 MB of ram. We (A friend of mine did levels 3,4,5 and 6) did not encounter too many problems with the game, however, on level six the Compaq locked up repeatadly. This will soon be remidied with more ram. (It seems you need 8 MB to run the game effectively) We recorded the demos using the 1.1 version of Doom. These demos were recorded by David Harden and Travis Smith.
