Star Trek: The Next Generation tile set By Clyde Massey-Ford I'm not going to bore you with all that nonsense about this being my first tile set. All I'm going to say is that I am a super serious "Trekkie." I have an extreme interest in anything that has to do with Star Trek. I have had fun using other Star Trek tile sets and decided to try my hand at creating one. I had a lot of fun doing this set! For those of you deprived individuals who don't follow Star Trek as regularly as the rest of us "Enlightened" people, an explanation of each tile follows. Oh, by the way, in case my last name sounds slightly familiar, it's because Steve and Charlotte Massey-Crouch, the creaters of the MESSIAH tile sets, are my parents. 1- Star Trek The Next Generation logo (seen on all official Star Trek products). 2- Warp Probe (a deep space probe housed in a modified photon torpedo casing) (it's a highly technical thing that does a lot of neat stuff) 3- Dilithium Crystal (powers the Enterprise and helps it go bye-bye) 4- Warp Core (matter/anti-matter reaction chamber) 5- Holo Diode (creates a variety of special forcefields) (makes a holographic rock feel like a real rock) 6- Holodeck (creates pure holographic images) 7- Isolinear Chip (futuristic equivalent to our present day computer disks) 8- Warp Nacelle (the engines on the starship) 9- Replicator (makes 4,500 different varieties of food) 10- PADD (Personal Access Display Device) (a smaller, more compact version of our present day laptop computers) 11- Lieutenant Commander Geordi LaForge (Chief Engineer of the Enterprise) 12- Beverly Crusher (Head doctor on the Enterprise) 13- Lieutenant Commander Data (an android with a positronic brain. He is the science officer on the Enterprise) 14- Lore (Data's evil twin brother) 15- Lieutenant Worf (Chief of Security on the Enterprise) 16- Deanna Troi (Counselor on the Enterprise) (she's a Betazoid. She can sense emotions in other people) 17- Guinan (Bartender, she's at least 500 years old!) 18- Commander William Riker (First officer on the Enterprise) 19- Locutus (Captain Picard as a Borg) 20- Captain Jean-Luc Picard (dressed as Dixon Hill, his holodeck detective character) 21- Spot (an untrainable fuzzy little cat owned by Data) 22- Livingston (Captain Picard's Lionfish. Livingston lives in Picard's readyroom) 23- 3-D Chess board (in the original series, this was Spock's favorite game. Data and the other characters of the Next Generation play this game from time to time) 24- Enterprise NCC-1701D (the name of the ship currently under Picard's command) 25- Type 15 shuttle (smallest short-range sublight shuttle) 26- Type 15A shuttle (light, short-range sublight shuttle) 27- Galor (most widely used class of warship in the Cardasian fleet) 28- Vor'cha (the largest and most advanced Klingon vessel) 29- Ferengi Symbol (a merchant race whose only mission in life is to make a buck) 30- Gorn Symbol (this race of beast-like people perfected space-warp techniques) 31- Federation Symbol (represents a group of many worlds [including ours] known as the United Federation of Planets) 32- Klingon Symbol (these warlike people were once the Federation's worst enemies. In the later series they are our allies) 33- Tholian Symbol (this race is known for its unbreakable energy webs which can capture entire starships) 34- Federation flag (means the same thing as #31. This is the official flag of the United Federation of Planets) 35- NCC-1701 (the first of the Federation class starships. It was first Commanded by Captain Robert April, then by Captain Christopher Pike, then Captain James Kirk. It was finally destroyed in 2284 defending against a Klingon attack) 36- NCC-1701A (Captain James T. Kirk's second starship) 37- NCC-1701B (this version of the Enterprise mapped over 142 star systems) 38- NCC-1701C (under the command of Captain Rachel Garett, she was lost in 2344 while defending a Klingon outpost from a Romulan attack) 39- Star Trek The Next Generation Communications Badge/Insignia 40- Original Star Trek insignia 41- Different version of #39 42- Different version of #40 If you should wish to write to me I can be reached at: Clyde B.
