Feel free to distribute this program as long as the original files remain unchanged. The writer of this program assumes no responsibility for any damage, real or imagined caused by this program. Also of potential interest is Randtres a random treasure generator for the AD&D game. This program even has the possibility of intelligent weapons. Notes: People who have a use for this program don't need definitions to most of the words encountered in the program such as: fighter, wisdom, etc..., however the word seed may cause some confusion. Seed: an integer, enter a whole number. Randchar is largely a menu-driven program, when running a menu will appear with available choices. Entering the letter corresponding to each choice that character will be generated. The monster hit point generator is run slightly differently. After entering m for monster you will be prompted by a few questions such as: Hit Dice, number of monsters, etc..., again this will all be self-evident to those who play AD&D. Randchar will also work for the D&D game, however hit points will usually be off and many classes available are not included in the D&D game. Other classes such as: Dwarf, Elf, etc.., are not available, (however a DM could just generate a fighter and a wizard and combine the relative ability scores for an elf etc...). On the matter of hit points, hit points generated from the monster hit point generator will still apply, however the hit points for the charcters will not apply(except for a wizard) characters in the AD&D game generally have more hit points than those in the D&D game. Finally, remember you are the DM. If this program generates a "super-character" you'd rather not have in your campaign, or a monster too powerful for your players to face, just ignore it. I'm just another DM who wrote a computer program, you're in charge of your campaign. This program was written with materials drawn from: David "Zeb" Cook, AD&D 2nd edition Dungeon Master's Guide. Random House: 1989. David "Zeb" Cook, AD&D 2nd edition Player's Handbook. Random House: 1989. with the purpose of aiding fellow DMs and players.
