Latest Update: June 8, 1991 RAMBLING THOUGHTS by a cosmogonist, Volume 1, Number 7 (25 lines) In an article in _Scientific American_ in June 1990, where you might expect accuracy, one sentence in the first paragraph says, "In the 15 billion years since the big bang, no point in the universe at large has reached a temperature cooler than three kelvins . . . " I deg to biffer (or something like that--I'm proud of my spooner- isms) on two counts, to wit, that the years since the big bang are longer than 15 billion and the background temperature in kelvins is a bit over 2.7, not the 3 noted above. "But Uncle Don, you are just being testy, aren't you? The author(s) were just rounding off for simplicity's sake." Simplicity's sake? In _Scientific American_? You gotta be kidding, Audrey.
