   Basic features of RAR

1. Better compression than PKZIP 2.04 and ARJ 2.41 on the majority of
   files (.EXE, .LIB, large TXT, ...)

2. Works in a full screen interface (mouse, saved configuration, history
   viewer, ...), or from the command line.

3. Creation of "solid" archives, permitting greater compression (by
   10-40% (but sometimes even more) compared with normal archives) when
   packing many small, similar files.

4. Works like ARCVIEW in full-screen mode with .ZIP, .ARJ, .LZH(.ICE)
   archives, but with more powerful possibilities (transformation of
   archives to SFX, addition and modification of comments, setting of
   temporary subdirectories, ...).

5. Creation and modification of SFX archives.

6. Creation of successive archive volumes of fixed size; creation of SFX
   archive volumes.

7. Placing of passwords, comments, protection on archives against
   modification, addition to archives of information on author and times
   of last modification, addition of archive name, and restoration of
   archives with damaged structure.

8. Support for ANSI escape sequences in comments.
