You may use the program for up to 60 days for evaluation. Please register WinMoney if you find it useful. Registration will remove the opening and closing Shareware registration reminders, and provide funds to allow continued development of WinMoney. Registered users will receive high priority for suggestions for improvements. For registration details please see WinMoney.Wri or the on-line Help. The Shareware version may be freely distributed provided the ZIP archive is complete and that no change is made to any file contained therein. Registered users:- Do NOT distribute your WinMoney.INI file as this contains your registration code. The following files should be found in WinMoney Zip file (WMNY10.ZIP):- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WinMoney files. WinMoney.EXE The WinMoney program. WinMoney.HLP Help file in Windows Help format. Provides on-line Help. WinMoney.WRI Documentation in Windows Write format. ReadMe.TXT Last minute changes and other information. (This file) History.TXT Update history (including Beta versions). Register.TXT Registration form. WinMoney.ICO WinMoney Icon. WinMoney.ICL Icon library - Alternative icons for Program Manager. File_ID.DIZ Description of WinMoney for BBS file lists. Shared System files used by WinMoney. CMDialog.VBX Common Dialog library file. Files used to install WinMoney. SETUP.EXE Windows SETUP program for automatic installation. SETUP.LST List of files required by SETUP.EXE. WMSETUP.EXE WinMoney specific installation. VER.DL_ Version checking for file installation. SETUPKIT.DLL SETUP library. OLECLI.DLL OLE Client library. WinMoney also uses COMMDLG.DLL (Windows DLL for Common Dialogs) which is provided with Windows 3.1 and should be in your Windows\System directory. (Or Windows dir in shared Windows systems on networks.) You will also need a copy of VBRUN300.DLL, the Visual Basic runtime library. This may be obtained from most Bulletin Boards and should be put in your Windows\System directory (or Windows dir in shared Windows systems on networks). AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you already have VBRUN300.DLL on your system you may use SETUP.EXE provided in the WinMoney zip to install the other files. (Do NOT use the SETUP.EXE in the Windows dir) Run SETUP.EXE from the directory in which you unzipped WinMoney. You will be asked to specify a directory into which to install WinMoney. If upgrading from an earlier version, you may specify the directory in which the earlier version was installed and the setup program will update the files for you. Your accounts data files and WinMoney.INI will not be overwritten and will be used by the new version, retaining you preferred configuration. The automatic installation will check for the Windows version and cater for networks and Windows for Workgroups. WMSETUP will check the version of the DLL and VBX files used by WinMoney and copy/update these as required. Alternative Program Manager icons for WinMoney may be found in WinMoney.ICL (for the latter, change the file extension to ICL in the Icon Browse in Properties). See Installation in WinMoney.WRI for more information on setting up WinMoney ignoring the bits about installing files. For those who prefer to install manually, the files may be copied/moved to the appropriate directories - see below and Installation section in WinMoney.WRI. MANUAL INSTALLATION. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CMDIALOG.VBX should be put in the Windows\System directory (or Windows dir in shared Windows systems on networks), making sure you do not replace a newer version. Other WinMoney files should be in the directory containing WinMoney.EXE. For more information on manual installation see WinMoney.WRI. When installing WinMoney into Windows, an icon may be found in WinMoney.EXE and alternative icons in WinMoney.ICL (for the latter, change the file extension to ICL in the Icon Browse in Properties). See Installation in WinMoney.WRI for more information on setting up WinMoney. Getting Started. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is suggested that you decide which Accounts you wish to set up (eg. Current A/c, Deposit a/c, Building Soc, Credit Card etc.) and Categories (eg. Electricity, Gas, Food etc.) before entering data into WinMoney. When starting a new set of accounts it is recommended that the names of Accounts be entered first, followed by the Categories and then the transactions. This order is no longer mandatory from version 1.04 onwards and also the database may be saved without any transactions entered. Items may be entered in any order or edited as required. Notes & Known Bugs:- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The number of main transactions is currently limited to 800 entries. A facility has been added to archive your accounts and then prune a block of transaction entries from the accounts, thereby freeing some space for entering new entries. It is hoped to allow a greater number of entries in future releases. No other known problems. Disclaimer ~~~~~~~~~~ This is the first full Shareware version of WinMoney. Previous versions have been in use for two years by two users and for several months by Beta testers, and bugs corrected when found, but no guarantee is given or implied that there are no further problems waiting to be found. Please report any problems to the author (see above). ________________________________________________________ WinMoney - Home Accounts for Windows.
