ABSTRACT:

This MAC.NAM file should only be used with NetWare 4.01 and NetWare for
Macintosh 4.01.  This version should replace the MAC.NAM that ships with
NetWare 4.01.

SYMPTOM

     The NetWare 4.01 file server abends with the following error when running
     AppleTalk Filing Protocol (AFP) processes:

     MESSAGE

          LockDirectoryEntry called with entry already locked

CAUSE

     This abend occurs because the NetWare operating system does a directory
     search and finds the Macintosh files.  When it searches the DOS
     counterpart, it does not check whether the file is open.

SOLUTION

     Replace the MAC.NAM file that comes with NetWare 4.01 with the MAC.NAM
     file included in NAM401.EXE.

     Installation Instructions:

     1.   Rename MAC.NAM to MAC.OLD.
     2.   Copy the new file included in this exe file to the DOS boot
          directory.
     3.   Down the file server and reboot.
