Curtiss Priest to further advances in Communication, computers and technology. The Center is particularly interested in improved human communication systems in the areas of education, self learning, training & manpower, mediation, health, medicine, and governance. Of particular interest is the field of technological innovation. The Center ascribes to the belief that there are better, informed choices that can be made about technological advances and that with limited human and monetary resources, these choices have extreme importance. Workshop presented April 24, 1994 at the Computer Professionals For Social Responsibility (CPSR) "Deveveloping an Equitable and Open Information Infrastructure" Conference (DIAC-94) This presentation and workshop discussion was based on the OTA supported study "Educational Technology Information: Networks, Markets, and Innovation" (see below). Both slides and a 1 1/2 hour VCR tape are available. %Design, Systems Integration, and Publication of TESS (The Educational Software Selector by EPIE Institute) on CD-ROM. A hybrid DOS/Macintosh CD-ROM provides the user with search abilities in a database of over 13,000 titles of K12 educational software from over 1200 vendors. Licensing and Marketing Agreement with REFAC (New York, NY) for a patented technology by which email is automatically sorted into folders on a user's PC. Ongoing discussions with Microsoft, WordPerfect, Novelle, Hewlett Packard, Lotus, DaVinci, and other groupware vendors to help these firms incorporate the new technology into their product offerings. %Establishment of an Internet Gopher site for the Center's publications in cooperation with the Standard Tool and Die Corporations online service known as the World.
