Unique Identifier : AIDSLINE ICA10/94370412 AB OBJECTIVES: To assess the compliances of dental professions working in Dental Clinics on inflection control procedures and the changes of them during these 3 years. METHODS: Questionnaires were sent to Dentists working as General Dental Practitioner, Hospitals and Public Dental Surgeries in 1992 Answers on practical infection control procedures they implemented were filled by themselves. Same questionnaire were sent again in 1995 for a group of Dentists including the participants at the previous survey. RESULTS: In 1992, 24% of dentists and 34% of dental hygienists were not using groves for any kind of dental treatments. 19% of dentists and 23% of dental hygienists were using groves for every treatments. And, 88% of dentists and 35% of dental hygienists were using masks for every treatments. 10% of dentists and 73% of dental hygienists were not using eye grasses for any kind of dental treatments. 36% of dentists and 18% of dental hygienists were using eye grasses for every treatments. Although 99% of dentists were using disposable needle for local anesthesia and change them for each patients, only 3% of them changed handpieces for engine and turbine for each patients. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: Although there were some sign of low compliances for some procedures, many dentists had good compliances in general. Encouraging program started from 1993 is expected to have improved them. The results for the survey in 1995 will also be presented.
