     Since I have been unable to find a New York BBS List that is regularly
updated, I have decided to start one. This current list, NYBBS001, has been
compiled from old lists that I have seen around. It has been broken into two
files, NYBBS001.LST and NYBBS001.OLD which is a compilation of BBS numbers from
other lists. The LST file is from more recent lists and most should be running
BBSes. The OLD file is from older lists, and I would estimate that over half of
the numbers there are no longer active BBSes.

     NYBBS??? will be released every month, and after list 6 is released, BBSes
will be removed if they haven't updated their information with the last 12
months. Until list 6 is posted, all BBSes in the OLD file will remain for
three months, and BBSes in the LST file will stay for 6 months. NYBBS007 will
be comprised of only BBSes in New York who have provided me with updated
information between 2/95 and 8/95.
