README.TXT file for SNDEVNTS.DRV


This file contains information about installing the new version of the 
SNDEVNTS.DRV file that is included in the self-extracting file 
SEVNT022.EXE. To install the new SNDEVNTS.DRV file, follow these steps:

1. Exit Windows.

2. At the MS-DOS prompt, copy the unzipped SNDEVNTS.DRV file to your 
   Windows\SYSTEM subdirectory. In many cases, this will be the 
   C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory (this is the default directory setup for 
   Windows and Windows for Workgroups). Copying the SNDEVNTS.DRV file to 
   this subdirectory replaces the older file in this subdirectory with the 
   newer file.

   Use the following command to copy the file

      copy <source>:\sndevnts.drv <dest>:\<windows>\<system>\sndevnts.drv

   where <source> is the drive containing the unzipped SNDEVNTS.DRV file, 
   <dest> is the hard disk containing your copy of Windows, <windows> is 
   the Windows directory, and <system> is the Windows\SYSTEM subdirectory. 
   For example, if the SNDEVNTS.DRV file is on the floppy disk in drive A 
   and your copy of Windows is in the WINDOWS directory on drive C, use 
   the following command:

      copy a:\sndevnts.drv c:\windows\system\sndevnts.drv

3. Restart Windows.
