INSTALLATION The computer Help file of The Constitution of the United States requires a personal computer running the Microsoft(tm) Windows(r) operating system version 3.1 or higher. If you have received a standard installation disk from a retail or shareware vendor or from Arbor Verde Press directly, place the disk in your disk drive, select File-Run from the Windows Program Manager and type A:SETUP (or B:SETUP). If you have received a "ZIP" file from a computer bulletin board, shareware vendor or on-line service, first use an unzip utility to extract the files to a floppy disk; then run setup as explained above. If you need help with an unzip utility, you may be able to receive assistance from your disk vendor or BBS operator. ADDITIONAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND OPTIONS During installation, the setup program will ask you to verify the location of your shared Windows directory. Unless you have a different location on a network, or have modified your windows setup, you should accept the default which is normally \WINDOWS\SYSTEM. During installation, you will be presented with a suggested directory on your hard drive to copy the program (C:\CONSTI). If the directory does not exist, it will be created for you. If you want to install the program to a different drive and directory, enter the information as desired. You should not install the program to a common directory such as \Windows or \DOS or the root directory of your computer (C:\). During installation, you will be presented with a suggested program group in which to install the icon for the program (Arbor Verde Press). If this program group does not exist, it will be created for you. If you want the icon installed in a different program group, choose one of your existing program groups from the list shown. During installation, you may be presented with the option of changing the "jump" colors used by the Windows help system. Normally, jump topics are underlined and green. If you wish to change the colors, select that option when presented. If you choose it you will be changing the colors for ALL your Windows help files, not just the Constitution help file. Select whether you want to change the colors or leave them alone, as desired. If you choose to modify your colors, setup will modify the [Windows Help] section of WIN.INI. If you change your mind later and want to set them to a different color, you can re-run the installation program and reselect the Change Colors option.
