If PerfectOffice is installed after 1/1/95, and the GroupWise QuickLook or GroupWise full version are installed, the error message "Debug Message - Old THETA being updated" will be displayed as you start WordPerfect, Presentations, or the Desktop Application Director. The functionality of the PerfectOffice programs is not affected, but the error message will display each time one of the above mentioned applications is run. The following message explains two ways in which this problem can be corrected. 1. Copying the updated file OFENUS.DLL, which is posted with this message (40,336k and dated 12/9/94 3:00pm), to the WPC20 directory will correct the problem. a. Exit Windows b. Copy OFENUS.DLL to the WPC20 directory and replace the existing file with the same name. In a standard installation, this directory is usually C:\OFFICE\SHARED\WPC20. The extraneous error message will not display anymore when loading PerfectOffice applications. This is the preferred method for fixing this problem. 2. Changing the system date on the computer to 12/1/94 and then starting WordPerfect, Presentations, and the Desktop Application Director will correct the problem. a. From the Program Manager, open the group titled "Main." b. Double click the Control Panel. c. Double click the Date/Time. d. Change the date to 12/1/94 and click OK. e. Launch WordPerfect (the error will appear). f. Click OK until all errors have been cleared. g. Repeat the above two steps for Presentations, and the Desktop Application Director (you will need to proceed past the opening dialog in Presentations before you will get the error). h. Reset the system date to the current date by following steps a-c. This sets a 1994 date in a file called WPCSET.BIF which allows the applications to proceed without the error when launching PerfectOffice applications.
