Eczematous photosensitivity disorders have been reported in patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus. We describe a patient with advanced acquired immunodeficiency syndrome who developed photodistributed hypertrophic lichen planus. We believe this is a distinct cutaneous manifestation of human immunodeficiency virus infection.
