 AB    HIV-associated dementia may pose communication challenges to healthcare
       staff. It is essential to obtain an accurate assessment of the confusion
       in order to achieve a baseline from which to evaluate a patient. It is
       important to communicate in a way that conveys worth and value to the
       patient. The expertise of the multidisciplinary team should be drawn on
       when working with such patients.
