Document 0679 DOCN M95A0679 TI Poll says American voters want no cutbacks in AIDS funding. DT 9510 SO AIDS Policy Law. 1995 Mar 24;10(5):11. Unique Identifier : AIDSLINE AIDS/95700242 AB A bipartisan poll on voter attitudes about AIDS, commissioned by the Human Rights Campaign Fund, showed strong support for the Federal government's role in caring for people with HIV. The poll found that 77 percent of those surveyed favor maintaining or increasing Federal funding for AIDS care. 55 percent under age 35 and 52 percent in the 33-44 age bracket say the government is doing too little to deal with the epidemic in support of adequate funding. Also, 56 percent would be less likely to vote against their member of Congress if that member voted against continuing Federal funding for AIDS care. The poll of 800 registered voters was taken February 22-25, 1995, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.
