7-26-1995 Jim Purcell SerPar.exe is a Windows - Based program designed for personal drill on electronics circuits. Series - Parallel resistor circuits are the first complex circuits an electronics student encounters. The sample circuit at the left is one of five from whiich the user may select. By clicking the left mouse button on the chosen figure, power supply voltages and resistor values are presented. These may then be used to calculate all circuit currents and voltages including R-Total and I-Total. Clicking on the RESULTS button presents the correct calculated results so the the user can check personal calculation accuracy. User Skills required: This program provides drill in performing series-parallel resistor circuit calculations, so it is assumed that the user has at least a minimum competancy in such calculations. The user is also assumed to have minimum Windows skills, including ability to use a mouse. Notes on program performance: Some attempt was made to format resulting output which may produce variations in answer resolution as high as one count in the second significant digit. Program technical notes: Size: 34.4 kilobytes. The program was created using Microsoft Visual Basic. Much of the code was taken from an earlier version written for Microsoft Quick Basic.
