              About the WinOnLine Review and This Index

    The WinOnLine REVIEW is distributed in the Windows HELP (.HLP)
file format and requires Windows 3.1. This Index is being released
in celebration of the upcoming release of our 100th issue of WOLR.
It includes a convenient index to the Feature Reviews and Shareware
Briefs published in the WinOnLine Review(tm), the WOLR Shareware 
Edition(tm), and Windows OnLine, the Weekly(tm).

                    *** Automatic Installation ***

    Click on the SETUP.EXE from within File Manager, or choose
FILE/RUN and type the path and INSTALL.EXE. The program will allow
you to choose the default or your own drive and directory, and will
advise you of the disk space required. A program group and icon are
created for the WinOnLine Review Index and this README.TXT file for 
your convenience.
    A very few third party Program Manager replacements have minor
problems with this install routine and may not insert the working
directory in the launch properties dialog. If you have problems
launching the magazine from the installed icon, please check and
update that field if necessary. If you have difficulties with the
installation program or viewing the index, please contact Bob 
Gollihur through a Sysop comment at Windows OnLine (510-736-8343)
or the Internet at bob.gollihur@wol.com, or CIS 71334,2065 for 
prompt technical support.
    

                        *** Manual Viewing ***

	We recommend you use the setup program; it's quick and easy
and provided for your convenience. However...

     To view the HELP file directly, without installing it, simply
unzip the contents of the ZIP file into its own directory. Move the
CTL3DV2.DLL to your Windows\System directory (it must not be in the
same directory; you probably already have this file). HYPERFIND.DLL
can be in the same subdirectory as the .HLP file or also placed in
the System directory -- your choice. Then, double click on the file
name WOLRIDX1.HLP.

     If it does not automatically load into the WinHelp program then
you will need to associate the extension (.HLP) to that program.
You do that by locating the [extensions] section of your WIN.INI
file and add the following line to it:

                          HLP=WINHELP.EXE ^.HLP

    After you add the above line, exit and restart Windows. Once you 
make that association you should not have to do it again and you can
read all .HLP (HELP) files by simply clicking on them.

    Another way to view our HELP file is to simple "RUN" the program
WINHELP.EXE and load our file into it, but in every case, the DLL
files provided must be in place as explained above.


               *** De-installing the WinOnLine Index ***

    If you have used the automatic installation program, erase
your destination directory. HYPRFIND.DLL may be removed from your
Windows System directory unless you have other help files that use
this DLL from Blue Sky Software Corporation. Leave CTL3DV2.DLL where
it is; another application will need it. Delete the applicable icons
or the entire group if that is your wish.
