 - If no close entries are found in the index, the PPE will now abort.  This
   change will get around problems where their is a zero byte index or the user
   attempts to search for "999" which is a cap where no close matches will
   be found.

 - Remodled some of the error reports so more good information will be put in
   the caller log.
