THE DESTRUCTION OF VOREZH - July 18, 1942

The new summer offensive is overwhelming the Soviets.  In the wake of
a significant breakthrough the Wermacht's vanguard forces have reached the city of Vorezh.
This important road junction is poorly defended by a hodge-podge of units thrown together
at the last moment.  With Russian reinforcements surely on the way, only your mixed
reconaissance group is close enough to attack the city before it is fortified.
Divisional command places a high priority on this attack, therefore you have regimental artillery units
 at your disposal as well as Luftewaffe bombers on call.  Do not let the Russians slow the momentum of
our offensive.  If you succeed we can use Vorezh as a springboard to continue our advance
eastward to victory!
