Here are some scanner frequencies for the Southeast Connecticut and Rhode Island areas. I've included five files. The first two are Connfreq.wk3 and Connfreq.fm3 which are the database files that can be used with Lotus 123 or Excel if you want to add to the list without retyping all 800 entries :). The second file is agency.txt - a text file sorted by agency type The third file is freqlist.txt- a text file sorted by the frequency number If you're looking for additional frequencies you might want to try purchasing some books such as the "Official Connecticut Scanner Guide" by Coburn , "Aeronautical Frequency Directory" by Coburn, "Directory of North American Military Aviation Communications",Police Call Plus(avaible at Radio Shack),"Top Secret Registry of U.S. Government Radio Frequencies" avaible from either DX Radio Supply Box 360 Wagontown,PA 19376 or Universal Radio Inc. 6830 Americana Pkwy. Reynoldsburg,OH 43068-4113 or Radio Shack You might also want to consider joining the Bearcat Radio Club. For about 30 bucks a year you get a subscription to "National Scanning Report" (A bi monthly magazine that deals exclusively with scanners),you also get a choice of a regional Betty bearcat freq directory or a Micro Fiche of all the licensed FCC frequencies for your state(the Micro Fiche is the better deal). With the microfiche you can make printouts from any library. With the full membership you also get access to the Bearcat BBS to lookup frequencies etc. To get more info or to join write to: National Scanning Report Box 360 Wagontown,PA 19376 Another source of frequencies is the message areas on either Fidonet or the Internet. On fidonet checkout the Scanner and Frequency Discussion Area. On the internet check out the Newsgroups Rec.radio.scanner and alt.radio.scanner. Also if your into monitoring the Aviation freqs like me you might want to get some air charts to use while monitoring. You can purchase everything from sectional charts to high altitude charts (the ones the big jets use) from either Sporty's Pilot Shop Clermont County Airport Batavia, Ohio 45103-9747 1-800-LIFTOFF or NOAA Distribution Branch National Ocean Service Riverdale,MD 20737-1199 or goto the nearest FBO listed in the yellow pages (such as Columbia Air in Groton,CT). If I left anything out or you have any comments etc. you can reach me via Fidonetmail at Bits N bytes at 1:320/119 Tim Mccauley
