Comment.Cmd 1.09 14-Feb-1996 NAME comment - display or change file comments SYNOPSIS comment [options] fileSpec [comment] comment -d [--delete] fileSpec... DESCRIPTION This manual page documents Comment.Cmd. Comment.Cmd allows you to display or change file comments. You can also view and edit file comments using the WPS (open the settings notebook for the file, and turn to the third page of the File tab). If `comment' is specified, it is assigned to the files matching fileSpec. Existing comments are not replaced unless the -f (--force) option is given. You should NOT put quotation marks around the comment, unless you want them to be part of it. If `comment' is not specified, comments are displayed for all files matching fileSpec. The `-s' (--subject) option tells Comment.Cmd to use the subject field instead of the comments field. In the settings notebook, the subject field is on the first page of the File tab. OPTIONS -a, --all-files List all files, including those without comments -d, --delete Delete comments from all files matching fileSpec. Multiple fileSpec's can be given with this option. -f, --force Replace existing comments -q, --quiet Do not display status messages -s, --subject Manipulate the subject field instead of the comments -?, --help Print a usage message on standard output and exit --license Print license information on standard output and exit --version Print version information on standard output and exit BUGS Can not display comments that span multiple lines (displays `' instead).
