SURVEY - THE QUESTIONNAIRE CREATION AND ANALYSIS PROGRAM

    INSTALLATION
         To install the SURVEY files on a hard drive, usually C, first
    place the SURVEY distribution disk in Drive A and, while in WINDOWS,
    move to the Program Manager.  Select FILE RUN and type "a:install:
    (without quotes).
    The installation file will load all the SURVEY files in a new
    sub-directory named "wsrvy" in the C: directory, unless you
    direct otherwise.  There will be no changes in your existing files.

    (If your source files are already on the hard drive, possibly
    downloaded from a bulletin board, on-line service, or the Internet,
    select this drive letter (usually C), even if the program files are
    to go to another subdirectory on this same drive.)

    INSTALLING THE ICON IN THE PROGRAM MANAGER
        If the icon for SURVEY is not present, it can be easily
        installed by the following procedure:

        1.  Open the WINDOWS Program Manager on-screen. Decide where
        you want the icon to be placed, possibly in the Applications
        window.  Then double-click on a vacant spot while holding down
        the ALT key.

        2. You will see the Progrm Items Property menu.  In the
        "Description" box, type "Survey for Windows". (No quotes).
        (Do not press ENTER). Click in the "Command Line" box and
        type "wsurvey.exe."   In the same way, type "c:\wsrvy" in
        the "Working Directory" box.

        3. Click on "Change Icon".  If you see the SURVEY icon
        in the box, click on "OK" twice and you will see the new
        icon in the Program Manager in the spot you selected.

           If you see a warning message indicating that the program
        can not find the icon, disregard the message and click on
        "OK".   Click on the" Browse" button.  Click on "OK" to see
        the directories and files. Double-click on the C:\ directory
        and select the WSRVY subdirectory. Double click on it to see
        its files.   Double-click on WSURVEY.ICO.  Click the "OK"
        buttons successively until you return to the Program Manager.
        The icon will be in the spot you selected. You can run
        SURVEY by double-clicking on the icon.

INSTRUCTIONS FILE
         The instructions for SURVEY for WINDOWS are contained in the
    file WSURVEY.DOC.  You can read or print this by launching WINDOWS
    and clicking on VIEW/PRINT to see the pop-up menu.  Then Click on
    "Instructions View/Print".  The Instructions will appear in the
    WRITE window that is included in the WINDOWS files.  These
    instructions consist of 42 pages of text.  Be sure to read them.
    A less complete overview of program operations and tutorial can be
    accessed by selecting "Overview of Program" in the "Help/Tutorial"
    window of the SURVEY Main Menu.
