This file describes the differences (bugs fixed, new commands etc.) between different versions of WMM. The differences always refers to preceding version. WMM 1.31 some bugs fixed, released on 1.3.1996 NEW FEATURES: - (Papirus) Papirus now displays reply header (to, subject, conference) and you can edit it. - (Papirus) Papirus now cuts lines you wrote at 65 chars per line - (WMM Tools) WMM Tools can: add, update two message bases, create or convert BBS users' file, make WMI for a message base - if there is a .REP packet older that .QWK WMM asks to delet it - new Edit menu - new File | View menu item - sound capabilities has been added (Options | Sound) - taglines can have multiple lines - new Base | Thoroughly Clean up menu item CHANGES: - Message | Copy selection has been moved to Edit | Copy - add / drop conferences works with QMail4 - toolbar has been improoved - CTRL-Q menu shortcut does not meaan "File | Open QWK" any more, now it's "Edit | Quote and copy" BUGS FIXED: - you can turn toolbar tips off - you can normaly view QWK packets WMM 1.3 some bugs fixed, some changes, released on 24.9.1995 NEW FEATURES: - (this belongs to Papirus) you ca use CTRL-Y to delete current line - toolbar help is displayed - marking messages by date (Base|Mark) - you can make groups - when editing a splitted reply, the whole message is put together - Base|Rename menu command - for the first seven toolbar buttons right mouse button kills current message and then does what that button does - in Options|BBS Specific there's a new option (assume messages are private) - F9 key = next message to all - you can write remarks - WMM can use (special) file with people and their fidonet addresses - new option (general) - mark messages from you as read - WMM can detect ARJ / PKZIP files (option) CHANGES: - Options|Addresses... has been renamed to Options|Groups... - WMM now works with Windows for Workgroups and Windows 95 - WMM will now work certainly only with PK(UN)ZIP and ARJ - message index is in columns - WMM copies .pnt and .ptr files - in about box, you can see for how long you are using WMM (45 days alowed) BUGS FIXED: - INS key only keeps and DEL key only kills message - WMM can handle very long messages - 100% no problems with replies (if the base name is diferent from BBS name) - WMM doesn't hang if there are more than cca. 1300 messages in a conference WMM 1.2 some bugs fixed, quite some changes, released on 4.3.1995 NEW FEATURES: - /y switch passes question weter to add qwk packet(s) (answers yes), when used together with file name as parameter - Options | Addresses and Message | Add to address list are new - Fidonet address box in Message Information window is new - Options | Colors enables you to set colors - Pg Up and Pg Down ALWAYS scroll message - Conference | Add/Drop alows off-line conference selection - ANSI Viewer option in General Options is new, together with Message | Use ANSI Viewer and Use ANSI Viewer button in Text Window, enables you to use an external program to view ANSI messages and buletins CHANGES: - file .PTR is also copied to message base's directory, so you can use it, if you need it - Message and Message Index windows are resizable in both directions - buttons in Message window are changed to icons (toolbar) - file DOOR.ID is also copied to message base's directory BUGS FIXED: - if "Don't show empty conferences" isn't checked, you couldn't write replies; now you can - when reading personal messages, conference name wasn't always displayed; now it is - .REP packet still was not 100% by the rules, therefore some mail doors didn't like it; now it's OK - if you used F5 to switch to "Terminal" font, WMM remembered the wrong fonr; now OK - WMM now recognizes all kinds of fidonet addresses - find command works also in personal "conference" - WMM now goes on with Cam-Mail packets WMM 1.12 some bugs fixed, released on 29.12.1994 CHANGES: - when killing duplicates, duplicates are marked as read BUSG FIXED: - WMM can now clean message base longer than 4 MB - WMM now adds its signature and tagline also if message is splited WMM 1.1 many bugs fixed, some new features, released on 23.10.1994 NEW FEATURES: - you can use .OR. operator in Find Window - Options | Conversion are added - you can switch confersion on and off using F6 key - Options | Replies were created from a part of Options | General - you can use F5 key to switch message font to Terminal (and back) - auto fidonet addressing is enabled, see Options | BBS Specific - button "To:ALL->" (next to all) is added in Message Window - PAPIRUS is added; it is a small editor, which will beep if line is too long - you can now mark messages in whole base - by translating english.lne and naming it *.lng, WMM can be translated in any language CHANGES: - WMM signature has changed - WMM signature and tagline are added after editing a reply - WMM loads faster - repairing indexes (clean base) is now faster - WMM can now use root (c:\, b:\...) directories as well BUGS FIXED: - quoting was wrong; you quoted the one you wrote reply to, and not the one, who wrote the message - when re-editing a reply, some spaces and s were added to the end of the reply. This is now fixed. - if you closed WMM while writing a reply, WMM warned you that you can not do this, but he did not stop you; the consequence was loosing all replies. Now you can not exit WMM while writing a reply. - problems, you could have with replies (to QWK packets that you have renamed), because replies were not accepted by BBS, are now fixed - in some cases (library, tagline) when you can not enter more than the defined number of characters, WMM did not warn you. Now it beeps - WMM now always removes all directories when closing - you can search for duplicated in personal "conference" - if you added message in personal "conference", some garbage appeared in message index; now fixed WMM 1.0 first version, released on 29.9.1994 Jaka Gubensek
