Syntax: R [; OldString ; ReplacementString]ê ; àRead Parent Command = RP If you are replying to a message then issuing this command will cause the parent message (the one to which you are replying) to be reshown.ê ; àSave Save the message (or file description). This option must be used in order to store the message. Syntax: S[ave] [;] [nn], where nn = section number. If you are REplying to a message, your reply will be stored in the same message section. If you are leaving an UPLOAD file description you may optionally append the CAtegory to the S command: S ; GA or S ; UT, etc. Also see POST, SC and SN.ê ; àSave No Echo Commad = SN Save the message but DO NOT allow it to be echomailed to other systems. This option must be used in order to leave the message. Syntax: SN [;] [nn], where nn = section number. If you are REplying to a message, your reply will be stored in the same message section. Also see S, SC, SAVE and POST.ê ; àBLANKLINE To force a blank line simply hit the tab key or spacebar then enter. Lines beginning with a period (".") also force a new line. The period will NOT show.ê ; àWORDWRAP Automatic wordwrap is in effect. A new line will automatically occur when the length of your current line exceeds your current margin length. Wordwrap occurs on word boundaries. Also see F)ormatê ; àPOST Typing /POST (or /PO or /POS) as the only entry on a new line will act as if you had entered S at the Editor Function prompt. Your message will be stored automatically if it is a reply or you will be prompted for a message section if it is an original message. Appending an "N" as in "/poN" or "/POSTn" tells stores the message in a manner which prevents it from being echoemailed to other systems. Also see SENDOFF. ê ' àWHO WHO or UST (UserSTatus) is a multinode system command which will display who is logged on the system's other nodes. If the phrase "is BUSY" is in a line of this status report, then that caller cannot be SEnt to. See also SEND, SENDON, and SENDOFF.ê ' àQUOTE Command = QU The QUOTE or QU command allows you to specify which lines of a parent message you wish to quote in a reply. The parent message will be reshown with line numbers (as if an RP had been issued) and you will then be prompted to supply the lines to quote. Lines may be specified as follows: nn : Quote line #nn. -nn : Quote FROM line #1 TO line #nn. nn- : Quote FROM line #nn to the end of the message. nn-mm : Quote FROM line #nn TO line #mm. You may then C)ontinue with the rest of your editing session. Syntax: QU[ote] [; begline - endline] If you stack the lines to be quoted, Auntie will not redisplay the parent message. This is handy if you already know which lines you want to quote. Note that the semicolon in stacked QUote commands is optional.ê ' ' Format added 511, 12-19-90. ' Modified for selectable lines, 5.12, 7-14-91. ' àFormat The Format command allows you to reformat all or part of your message to any line length between 35 and 80 characters. This can be a handy feature if you have added a word or phrase in a line already written thereby making it longer then your default right margin setting. You will be prompted to supply the lines to reformat. Lines may be specified as follows: nn : Format line #nn. -nn : Format FROM line #1 TO line #nn. nn- : Format FROM line #nn to the end of the message. nn-mm : Format FROM line #nn TO line #mm. Example: f ; 78 ; 12-22 Warning: Don't reformat messages which have QUoted ">" text in them. Doing so is harmless but will rearrange the previously added quotes. Syntax: F [[;] nn [;beglin - endlin] where nn is the new line length, 35-80 characters and beglin and endlin are the beginning and ending lines to be formatted. The entire message will be reformatted if you just hit enter.ê ' àSave w/ Copy Command = SC If you wish to leave one or more public copies of a message to other callers, use the SC command instead of S. You will be asked if you wish to leave a copy and to whom. This prompt will repeat until you answer no. The addressees of the copied messages must be currently logged members of the board. Sending a copy to an addressee such as "All C Gurus" is not allowed. If, for some obscure reason, you wish to make a copy private, Read it and use the T (Toggle) command. Syntax: SC [;] [section#]ê ' àCopy Store a Public Copy of a Message If you wish to leave one or more public copies of a message to other callers, use the SC command instead of S. ' àGOOF Hitting your ñEscñape key while at any prompt (except inside the message editor) will erase whatever you have typed and redisplay the current prompt.
