PROGRAM STUFFS: =========================================================================== System Requirements: IBM or Compatible DOS system Hard Drive preferable Main Menu: Use the arrow keys to move up selection bar up and down to indicate your selection. To exit the program, press Escape. To select an option, press Enter. MAIN MENU OPTIONS: Load Phonebook: This option loads a saved phonebook file. It lists a maximum of 18 books, all of which must be in the current directory. Pressing the key on a selection loads it. 'L' - Pressing 'L' when in the Load Phonebook box allows you to load manually. You are prompted for the name of the file. This allows you to load from other directories or an excess of 18 phonebooks. *****Do not add an extension to the end of the filename. Save Phonebook: Saves the phonebook in memory to a data file. Be sure to do this after editing or else your changes are lost after leaving the program. The filename can be up to 8 letters. Do not add an extension to the end of the filename. View Phonebook: Views the phonebook currently in memory, one entry at a time. It starts at entry 1. Pressing proceeds to the next entry in memory. Pressing BackSpace will move to the previous entry. Pressing Escape exits. 'E' - Edit: Allows you to edit your entries. Editing a blank entry is in effect adding an entry to your list. Press the number identifying which entry you wish to modify, and modify it. 'D' - Dial: If your modem type is supported(1), and Dial-It is properly configured (see Below--F3 Configure), Dial-It will dial the number for you. Create Phonebook: Pretty straight forward, actually. You can create a maximum of one hundred entries in each phonebook file. Thus, excluding manual loading, Dial-It supports about 1800 phone numbers total, that can be loaded without the 'L' option. Options: Search: Allows you to search the phonebook in memory for a string of text. It need not be any recognizable word, i.e. 782, Dave, u are all examples. Case does not matter. The Search routine then proceeds through all the entries--starting at entry 1--until it finds a match. It then displays that entry, with the categories that contain the string highlighted. After the first one, pressing exits, while pressing continues the search where it left off. If Search ever checks and finds no match, it will automatically return to the Edit menu/ Alphabetize: This orders all entries in memory, either progressively (forward) or degressively (backward) in alphabetical order. It's recommended you save it afterwards, else you may forget and *poof*, it's gone when you exit. Print List: Print a list of the phone numbers.
