Salutations, we are CyberGuild Technology Inc., a VAR with over 55 years of collective computer (hardware & software) and management experience. (Phone: 416-420-9225 Fax: 416-420-5924) Our focus is "high quality at a reasonable price". Services and products we provide: - high end PC systems (486 systems, servers, ...) - personal PC solutions (386 based systems) - commercial software (huge selection) - PC peripherals (printers, modems, memory) - consumable (tapes, disks, ...) - custom built programming solutions Specific examples include: (1) We noticed that memory for the OKIdata laser printer was over-priced. We worked with a reputable Canadian manufacturer to resolve this. RESULT: we can add 2 Meg for under $200 (installed) (versus $310-400 from other sources) (2) We noticed that the sophisticated modem/BBS users were getting a raw deal on high speed UARTs (especially for use on COM1) Using a chipset called 16550, your high speed modem can run reliably at speeds over 9600 baud. RESULT: we have a Canadian-built I/O card with the equivalent of TWO 16550A chipsets, plus one parallel port. The serial ports on this card can be run as RS-232 or RS-422. (all with one VLSI chip) For the astute user, the ports can be re-configured to be null modems, etc using the jumpers. All this for under $100. (a good quality I/O card with 16550 chips is $140+) (3) We noticed some dealers push a particular system. This may make things simpler for them, but lowers the options for the end-user. RESULT: we have our 'best of breed' supplier, but we will custom configure systems to your needs to get you the best deal. There will always be the cut-throat clone suppliers who can beat our price, but not the same quality. We will also setup the system and ensure you are comnfortable with it. To guarantee the most current version of a product, at the best price, our policy is to custom order your purchase. We can fax you further information on these products, or any other items you need. For the I/O card in solution #2, we have uploaded a quick program that tells you the chipsets you have today in your serial card. Feel free to download it and try it. It is called SER_CHIP.ZIP P.S. - Our products are not flimsy knock-offs aimed at the bargain basement market. Our reputation as a VAR assumes that up-front quality will keep you happier than visiting the repair shop.
