Installing new ROMS in
                V32bis Zoom/modems

(On  the external modem detach all cable, remove the  4
screws on the bottom of the modem. The case will  split
in half.)

Look  on the modem for 2 rectangular chips  with  white
labels.  They will have several numbers, and also  have
an  "S"(SLOW) on one and an "F"(FAST) on the  other  in
the  number string. On one end of the chip  socket  and
one end of the chip you will see a small 'indent'. Make
sure the indents match when you install the new  chips.
Replace  the F chip with the new F chip and the S  chip
with  the new S chip.  The old chip may be  removed  by
sliding a small flat object (like a small  screwdriver)
under  the  chip.  When installing  the  new  chips  be
careful not to bend the pins.
