An extensive file download area is available to support the OS/2 development and user community. File Reqest "FILES" for a complete list. LiveNet Policies FidoNet node 1:170/110, Sysop: Dave Fisher Purpose Statement LiveNet exists for two reasons: (1) to provide current issue discussion forums and (2) to provide programming and development support to the OS/2 community. Current issue discussions will revolve around three areas: (1) environmental concerns (See Environmental forum), (2) the changing roles of men (which is a forum currently "under development"), and (3) discussions on simple lifestyles, or those who want to consider available alternatives to today's stress filled society (also currently "under development"). Support for the OS/2 community will take three forms: (1) LiveNet will support OS/2 forums (programming, LAN support, etc.). (2) LiveNet will carry an extensive shareware collection of OS/2 specific files. (3) LiveNet Sysop will provide support and help personally with Q/A as he his able. Rules of Participation in LiveNet As with any organization, whether it is construed as a hobby or not, certain rules of conduct must be defined and upheld. They are as follows: (1) Integrity Above all, the integrity of each individual person sharing within any forums supported by LiveNet or any of LiveNet's local message areas will be upheld. When you are responding to a comment left by another caller, you are responding to a person. People will many times disagree on any one particular issue, but on LiveNet, we will learn to disagree with honor. Thus, LiveNet will not tolerate inflammatory remarks. As well as destroying the dignity of the person at which they are directed, they are simply unproductive. (2) Language Language will be kept courteous. Even though a good curse here or there is good for the soul, LiveNet is not the appropriate place for cursing. Find a good friend that will listen. This includes such euphemisms as a**h***, f*** y**, etc. LiveNet has the responsibility of sponsoring national, public forums, and asks for a certain amount of decorum, as you would display in any public place. (3) Shareware LiveNet makes available to every caller a healthy collection of shareware files. Uploading files that are not meant for public domain is strictly against the policies of LiveNet. This includes any commercial products, or copyrighted programs that are intended for over-the-counter sales. (4) Liability LiveNet disclaims any liability whatsoever concerning anyone's use of services or downloadable files found on LiveNet. --- End of LiveNet Policy Document, last update 24-Oct-1991.
