TECHNICAL BULLETIN 04.25.90 ADDTODOS JCR (update 7.30.90) DISK UTILITIES: Add To DOS, Elkay Software Installing Add To DOS Insert Add To DOS disk in floppy drive, and from floppy prompt run the INSTALL program. This will copy the necessary files to an \ATD directory and reconfigure the autoexec.bat file to load Add To DOS upon reboot. NOTE: Upon completion of installation, Add To DOS will reboot the system. Add To DOS provides drive accessibility through a "pull-down" menu. This menu seems to recognize only physical designations. On this assumption, one must either specify the physical designation (A: B: C:...) as a redirected drive through the network or use the DOS SUBST command, or use Add To DOS on local designations only. The redirected drive designations (E: F: G:...) are available through the DOS prompt with Add To DOS loaded, and tests indicate most network commands function accordingly through that prompt. When loaded, Add To DOS requires approximately 74000 bytes of RAM. Add To DOS does not appear to be Network Aware, and intermittent problems were encountered when testing on a LANtastic server. This is a known problem and has been confirmed with the product manufacturer. Add To DOS has been tested with the LANtastic NOS 2.57 and 3.0, and has been added to our compatibility list with a note recommending the user not to run AddToDOS on a LANtastic server. Elkay Software has confirmed the content and accuracy of this document. Vendor Info Elkay Software Inc. 5032 Goddard Avenue Suite C Orlando, FL 32804 (407) 380-5168
