Landing Approach Software ========================= Landing Approach Software is a small, yet productive software producing agency that writes Shareware programs. Most of the software written by Landing Approach Software is utilities for the Spitfire BBS system, although a few games are being written for use on PCs. The following is a list of programs written by Landing Approach Software: SFLAST5.EXE This is a utility for the Spitfire BBS system that creates two display files (ANSI and ASCII) between callers to your bulletin board that lists the last 5 callers. It is the most complex "last callers" utility available for Spitfire, utilizing several data files for personalization. The current version is 2.8 which is $10 after a 30-day trial period under the Shareware Concept. AIRTODAY.EXE This utility for the Spitfire BBS creates two display files (ANSI and ASCII) during an EVENT you configure that lists historical aviation events on today's date based on your computers time/date chip. Version 1.0 has been released, and I am asking $5 after a 30-day trial period under the Shareware Concept. GETIME.EXE This fun utility was written for use on IBM compatible computers that have a time/date chip that does not remember the time and date when it is rebooted. When told to, the utility will either save the computer's time and date to disk, or retrieve the time and date from disk and put it in the computer's memory. It is ideal for BBSes that run on old-style PC or XT computers. It still is in the stages, but it should be released by late February, 1992. SFHOT10.EXE This is also in the testing stages. It is a highly complex utility for the Spitfire BBS system that keeps track of all the files downloaded from your BBS, and creates two display files (ANSI and ASCII) that lists the "Top Ten Downloads." Release is expected in March, 1992. YF22.EXE This is currently being written by Landing Approach Software, and no date has been set for release. When it is completed, it will be a fully functional Flight Simulator for use as a door on Spitfire BBS systems. It will simulate a Lockheed YF-22 Supercruiser, and the game aspect will closely follow Microprose's F-19 Stealth Fighter approach. Release is expected sometime in 1993.
