Mike i worked a long time with this and this is the script i came
up with for my Viva 14.4 i/fax and Viva 9642 i modem that seems to
be working well with modems from the 2400 to 14.4 baud range. I have
not had a 1200 baud to try this setup but pretty sure it will also 
work.

The string is this :
ATN1Q0V1W2X4&K3&Q5S36=1S0&Y0\N3%C3%D3%M3%QS95=44S0=0S2=1

Hope this might help someone else out.
This modem is capable of speeds up to 57600
