Luciano, I1YRL, plans to be active from 3A and 4U1ITU from mid August until November. There are no other details available at this time,other than he works mostly CW. ADDED NOTE: Also W5ZPA has announced he will become active from Monaco starting August 16. 3D2, FIJI ISLANDS. I4ALU is on the air from Fiji using 3D2CA from August 10-23. He will also be active from two different IOTA's. By the time you read this, he will have finished his activity from Vitu-Levu Island (OC-016) from August 10-14th. I4ALU will then be active from August 15-23th from Torkoriki Island (OC-121). After that he will go to KH6, August 24-26th. QSL via I4ALU. 3D2, ROTUMA. Ruvendra, 3D2RP, was heard active on 20 meters SSB this past weekend on 14211 kHz at 0345z. 3D2 CONWAY REEF. There was a report (but this has not yet been confirmed) that Raj, 3D2ER, was reportedly active from here the past several days on or around 14028 kHz between 0330 and 0430z. 3V, TUNISIA. The DXNL reports that Ron, AA5DX, will be in Tunisia around mid August. No details on how long he will be there or if he is going to try to operate. KYFC!! 5R, MADAGASCAR. Karl, 5R8KH, was heard this past weekend on 21295 kHz around 1700z. QSL via WB8LFO. 9X, RWANDA. VE3MJQ will be in Kigali for six months starting on August 15th. He expects to receive a callsign and will operate mostly on SSB. QSL via VE2PR. Also, a reminder that Alex, PA3DZN, will go to Kigali on an order from the UN and hopes to be active as soon as possible. A5, BHUTAN. Jim Smith, VK9NS, was heard earlier in the week on the air discussing the possibility of returning to A5-land. Jim has been working with the Ministry of Communications for quite sometime now in hopes to return and activate this most wanted country. Jim was heard mentioning that once he gets the word to operate, he can be in A5-land in 48 hours because all the equipemnt is already there. IOTA ISLANDS. By the time you read this Martin, G3ZAY/NU2L, and Tom, WT2O, will be done activating a new IOTA from Hopewell Islands (now NA-195) in the Hudson Bay Quebec Coast North Group during August 13-14th. They will also be active from Belcher Islands (NEW IOTA) from August 15-18th. There may be a short visit (few hours) to King George Islands (IOTA NA-159) on the 16th or 17th. QSL WT2O/VE8 via WT2O and NU2L/VE8 via G3ZAY. OS, BELGIUM. The DXNL reports that a special prefix of OS may be used by Belgium stations from September 1 until December 31, 1994. No details were given why. OPDX will try to find out. S61, SINGAPORE. Some stations in 9V1-land will be using S61 prefix now until September 12th to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Singapore Amateur Radio League. TA, TURKEY. Bob, TA1/K4UEE, has been active for several days, emphasizing CW on 40 and 20 meters with some 20 meter SSB. He put out the word on August 10th that he would be active on 160 meters at 0100, 0200, and 0300z on 1827 khz listening up the band. No further information was given as to his length of stay in Turkey and if he may try again. TU, IVORY COAST (also 9L and EL). Jay K4ZLE, will be active from TU-land, August 18-20th and again August 26-30th. He has requested a callsign, but nothing as been used as of yet. Activity will be mostly on CW all bands 80-10 meters.
