Mako, JF2RZJ, informed OPDX that his group had to change their plans for 5W-land due to a flight cancellation. The group will fly to 5W-land by way of 3D2-land (Fiji). The JA group are planning to be active from 3D2 on September 9-11th and again on the 15-17th. They will begin their 5W operation on September 11th through the 14th (instead of the 9-14th as first announced). Their 3D2 callsigns have not been issued as of yet but look for JA2FBY, JF2GYH, JF2RZJ and JH2ABL signing 5W0BY, 5W0HK, 5W0JA and 5W0BL, respectively. Activity will be on all bands, CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL to their CBA. 5X, UGANDA. Paul, WF5T, will be active as 5X1XT from November 1-31st. Activity will be on 10-80 meters CW/RTTY. QSL to his CBA. CORRECTION! Warren, KF7AY, informed OPDX that there was a small error in OPDX.172 under "9G, Ghana". The callsign for Jim Larsen, K7GE, should be 9G5JL and not 9G5JR. The callsign 9G5JR belongs to Jack Reed, WA7LNW. DS, SOUTH KOREA. There is a report indicating that stations in HL-land may begin using the new prefix "DS" for South Korea (HL). FR/E, EURPOA. A couple of stations on the PacketCluster and Internet have reported working a station signing FR5HG/E lately. There were no announcements recently made in the past several weeks of a possible operation, but WFWL! This station has been heard on 7005 kHz at 0340z and 14006 kHz at 1241z. JT, MONGOLIA. JT1CS has been very active this past week on 20 meters CW and RTTY between 1230 and 1430z. QSL to Bat Erdene, Box 125, Ulan Bator 20, Mongolia. JUST A REMINDER (by Jeff, WB3JFS)! As summer is ending in the Northern Hemisphere, the Antarctica is getting its wakeup call from a long winter. This also means there will be more activity from the bases in the Antarctica. The best times to be looking for them would be the early morning and mid evening hours. Kab, 8J1RL, can sometimes be found on 20 meters CW between 1130 and 1400z. OS, BELGIUM. Stations from here have begun using the "OS" prefix to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Belgium. They will continue to use the "OS" prefix until December 31st. Also, look for special event station on September 24 and 25th. Stations mentioned are: OO50USA, OQ50USA, OR50USA and OS50USA. PACIFIC DXPEDITIONS. Teo, DJ1RL, and Harry, DL6NA (Harry), will be active from several spots in the Pacific. Their schedule is as follows: Hawaiian Islands - October 5-9th, they will sign KH6/DJ1RL and KH6/DL6NA while visiting AH6NB. Nauru Islands - October 10-17th, they will sign C2/DJ1RL and C2/DL6NA. FIJI Islands - October 17-19th, Harry, DJ1RL will sign 3D2FT. Niue Islands - October 19-22th, they will sign ZK2/DJ1RL and ZK2/DL6NA. Fr. Polynesia - October 22-28th, they will sign FO/DJ1RL and FO/DL6NA while visiting FO5IW. Activity will be on the normal DX frequencies. Teo will be active mainly on CW while Harry will be active mainly on SSB. DJ1RL will be especially active on 80 meter and 160 meter (1827/1832). QSL via their homecalls or bureau. If a direct QSL is required, please remember that an Airmail Letter from DL costs 3.00 DM (that is about 1.95 US$!!!). VQ9, CHAGOS. VQ9QM says he will begin to be active on 160 meters every Sunday evening. No specific times or frequencies were given, but last season he was on 1827 kHz and listening around 1833 kHz around the East coast sunset. VQ9TP continues to be active quite frequently on 18079 kHz between 1330 and 1430z. QSL via N5TP. VU7, ANDAMAN ISLANDS.
