Improvements/Fixes for v1.05 of Lost Caverns o The look command was in need of much improvement - if the user incorrectly uses the look command, the game will now give that user instructions on using it. Looking at monsters did not work correctly, this is now fixed. If a monster has no description, a generic description message will now be displayed (configurable in configuration level 6). If a user looks in a directly where there is no exit (ie there is a wall there), the game will now inform the user (s)he is looking at a wall. Players can now see how they are being described to other players by looking at themselves. o When a room is created the description can now be shorter than 10 characters. It must be at least 5 characters (as the text in the game tells the user). The game will now reprompt the user for the description. o There is now a verbose command. Users who wish to see a shortened version of the room description can do so by toggling their verbose setting. The command to toggle the verbose setting is 'verbose' o There were problems with Warping in the Game. If a room warped to itself, an endless loop resulted causing a GP which locked the system without even generating a GP.OUT file. If a set of rooms warped into a loop, the same result occurred - ie, if room 1 warped to room 2 and room 2 warped to room 1 - the result was a GP. This bug has been resolved by never allowing room #1 to have a warp and by sending players to room #1 if they are warped twice in a row. o When a user looked into another room, they might have been confused and thought they were actually in that other room. Now the game will tell the player that what room they are actually in after looking in an adjacent room o There was no way to create an item to be worn on the head. There now is a way to create such an item and there is also a way to create items which may not be worn (such as a boulder or something of that nature). o You may now edit items. You may find that your old items seem to be on wrong body parts - you can use this command to edit them. (ie, a sword definitely should not be worn on the neck) o Players now receive an increase in maximum health at every level. There is still a one in seven chance of receiving an increase in each of the six attributes (strength, agility, wisdom, intelligence, charisma, and constitution). If the player does not receive an increase of any of the six attributes, (s)he'll receive an additional maximum health increase. o You may now have descriptions for items up to 400 characters long. The only way to enter these descriptions is by editting the item (you can't describe items when you create them). o You'll notice that the list of monsters is in white (in each room) - you can now change this in configuration level 6. Please continue reporting all bugs found to me - its really difficult for me to find them all myself. With the exception of next week which is a holiday (Happy Thanksgiving by the way), I'll be normally releasing a new version every Saturday or Sunday.
